The Lord Jesus Christ said --

I Am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. --John 8:12

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10

Assuredly, I say unto you, unless one is born again, he cannot see The Kingdom of God. --John 3:3

Born again (conversion) means to be born of The Spirit of God, who indwells every believer. The Holy Spirit will help the believer grow spiritually, He will help the believer to pray and enlighten the believer in the word of God. When the disciple Peter said --

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of The Lord. --Acts 3:19

The disciple meant that The Holy Spirit brings a refreshing newness of life, which enables the believer to love more, increase in faith, to have the ability to pursue God, and to become more holy and peaceful.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. -- 2 Timothy 1:7

The abundant and eternal life begins the moment you receive The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and God; The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of your salvation --

If you love Me keep My commandments. And I will pray The Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever -- The Spirit of truth. -- John 14:15

Look very carefully at that verse, The Lord said The Holy Spirit would be with/in us forever that's a promise by God (who cannot or does not lie). The Lord does not say anywhere that if your not a good Christian or living up to a certain standard you'll lose the Holy Spirit, NO! No matter what happens God is faithful He will never depart from us -- so we can always be at peace and confident knowing that we can trust in Him. For God Himself says to us believers/Christians --

I will be with you always. -- Matthew 28:20

"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" -- Hebrews 13:5

Also here's some other Scripture's that proves your eternally secure --

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us The Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. -- 2 Corinthians 1:21

Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us The Spirit as a guarantee. -- 2 Corinthians 5:5

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. - Ephesians 4:30

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of The Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in The name of The Son of God. -1 John 5:13

Now because God The Father has sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for you, and sent the Holy Spirit to live within you to comfort you, help you, and is the guarantee that you'll be with the Lord in heaven when you die -- you should be very grateful to The Lord God and want to love Him and follow Christ. So out of gratitude you should consider reading The Holy Bible sometimes so that you can commune with God, and also you should consider going to some Bible based Church on Sundays to worship God and remember what He did for you on the cross. Oh also one of the only commands Christ gave us is when you become a Christian you are to get baptised in water -- so do it.
The Lord is Good He will do great things for you if you continue to trust in Him, and He doesn't ask much from you -- just baptism, Church/communion on Sunday morning, and for you to love God and people -- so please try your best to be a good Christian.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthian 13:13
